Kentucky advances to 17th Final Four

Kentucky knocks off Notre Dame 68-66 in the Elite Eight to claim the 2015 NCAA Midwest Regional Championship. As we know, the Cats were clutch down the stretch – they didn’t miss a shot in the final 12:16, scoring on their final nine possessions. The Wildcat’s needed every single one of those buckets to keep the perfect season intact.

With the win, Kentucky improves to 38-0 and advances to their 17th Final Four in school history. The Cats are seeking their 9th National Title.

Fun fact: Kentucky is 33-0 on the season.

In somewhat chippy game that was never in doubt, Kentucky easily handled Auburn in a tune up for the chance to win their 28th SEC Tournament Championship. The cats will either face Georgia or Arkansas tomorrow at 1 PM.

Kentucky improves to 32-0 and ties longest SEC team win streak

Today’s win was Kentucky’s third over Florida this season, with two of those coming over the past week. This win also ties the longest win streak ever by an SEC school. And according to ESPN, the 2015 Kentucky Wildcats are the 6th team in Division 1 history to start 32-0. Two of those teams went on to win the National Title.

Karl-Anthony Towns showed up big again today, he posted a double-double with 13 points and 12 rebounds. The Harrison twins are always clutch during big games, they combined for 22 points and only 1 turnover as the top-seeded Cats defeat the Gators 64-49 in the quarterfinals of the 2015 SEC Tournament.

Kentucky faces the winner of the Auburn and LSU game tomorrow at 1PM.

Selfless

The 2015 Kentucky Wildcats are arguably the most talented college teams ever assembled. As hard as it is to believe, they are also one of the most unselfish teams too. We all have heard the term, “there are not enough balls go around” when it comes to too many highly talented players on one team. But this group is different, they play for each other and they play as a team.

Calipari said, “I’m blessed to have a group of guys like this. They’re talented yet they’re selfless enough to do this. I’ve talked to guys who watch us who say, ‘I wouldn’t want to do this. I’d be out of rhythm. I want my 35 minutes.’ These guys have performed at a high level, cheering for each other, comfortable in their own skin.”

A team full of potentially ten or eleven future NBA players that care about their teammates success just as much as they do their own. Here they are cheering on their teammates. This is selflessness, this is Kentucky Basketball. Click to view the full version.

Tony Delk – Respect

Tony Delk, one of the all time Kentucky greats, and certainly one of favorite players of all time had his jersey retired to the rafters of Rupp Arena tonight. He earned it! I created in this Facebook cover in honor of his special night. Congratulations Tony!

WCS is Superman

During the Kentucky @ Florida game this year, Willey Cauley Stein confirmed that he really is Superman. Check out the the video below as WCS posterizes Florida forward Devin Robinson. This has to be a candidate for the best dunk of the year.

Tyler Ulis – Heart and Hype

All us UK fans know that Tyler Ulis is a ridiculously skilled athlete. He certainly plays much bigger than his size and despite being a freshman, he is a leader and a floor general out there. He is so tenacious on defense and is absolutely one of the best on ball defenders I have ever seen at the college level. No one and I mean no one beats him off the dribble. Tyler will also be the neutralizer if we were to run into another Shabazz Napier type guard in this years NCAA tournament.

I absolutely love this kids heart too. He is a true winner and a competitor. Louisville found out first hand just how much heart Tyler has. I bet they burnt those ridiculous “Heart Over Hype” warmup shirts after that game because they quickly learned that UK not only had heart, but the hype was real too. Tyler literally led us to victory while bleeding. Louisville didn’t demonstrate much of anything that game, players like Chris Jones and Montrez Harrell were too busy pretending to be “Drama Queens” rather than playing basketball.

Willie is one of my favorite Kentucky players of all time. I created these Facebook covers last year after he went down with the leg injury in the Louisville game. We fell a game short of our 9th National Title, but Willie came for his junior season to take care of some unfinished business. Two different version version below.

A Jojo Kemp Facebook cover I put together after his remarkable individual performance vs South Carolina last year at Commonwealth Stadium. The determination and heart Jojo displayed on the game winning drive was remarkable. He literally put the team on his back and led us to victory. The future is bright for our football cats due to young talent like Jojo.
